An Exquisite Victorian House.
This stunningly beautiful Victorian house is ideally located on a quiet cul-de-sac just off Grove Green Road. The many pubs, eateries and other independent businesses on Leytonstone High Road are a short stroll away and offer the perfect excuse (if an excuse is needed!) to indulge in some great food (try the Sunday roast at The Red Lion – it’s fab) and wind down with a cold beer or glass of wine. If you'd prefer you could head over to Westfield, where you can hit a shop or two (or twenty), enjoy a meal at one of many excellent restaurants, or perhaps catch a film at the cinema. If you fancy a walk or cycle, then the choices are endless (the Olympic Park, Hollow Ponds and Wanstead Flats are all within easy reach) or perhaps stay closer to home and take the kids to the park – it’s literally next door! If you want to go slightly further afield, then having Leytonstone Underground station on your doorstep means you are just a hop, skip and a jump from central London (which is also very convenient for the daily commute). And of course, if it’s easy to get into central London, it also means it’s easy to come in the other direction, so expect to become popular hosts in this wonderful house. Whatever you are planning, be it fun or work, staying in or going out, this beautiful house is ideally located.

Living Here... - OK, where to start? At the beginning I suppose! Walk through the front door and into the hallway, and immediately to your left is the lounge. This immediately struck us as the perfect spot for hunkering down with the family to watch a movie in the cold winter months. Moving onwards you come to the cloakroom and utility room, which ensure that there’s always somewhere to store the muddy wellies when you come back from a trip to the park, and that wet socks are removed before they leave a trail down the hallway. There’s even a downstairs WC. Finally, on the ground floor you come to what is the heart of any home, the kitchen diner, and what a heart this one is. If you aren’t in love with this house by the time you see this, then you will be once you have. This is the ultimate family room, where young and old can gather to eat and chat. From the polished concrete floor and modern fitted kitchen, to the huge bi fold doors overlooking the garden, which allow light to flood in, this is a wonderfully conceived room, and one that will be used more than any other we’re sure. Tearing yourself away from the kitchen diner and moving upstairs, on the first floor you will find two light and airy double bedrooms (one with en suite shower room) plus the family bathroom. On the second floor the current owners have added two further bedrooms and a shower room, thus ensuring that any family will have plenty of room in which to grow. From top to bottom this is a truly wonderful house, and one we are sure many will want to turn into their family home.

In This Area... - Leytonstone, or Leyton-St-One as my friend calls it when she’s trying to sound posh, is the birth place and former home of Alfred Hitchcock. It gets its name, or the stone bit at least, from the Highstone mile marker which stands on Hollybush Hill. Bordering Walthamstow, Wanstead, Epping Forest, Leyton and Stratford, Leytonstone has a lot going on. Check out All You Read Is Love on Leytonstone High Road. This independent café, bar and bookshop is great spot to sit and while away the hours, they host loads of special events, and you can buy real books (none of those ebooks here). If you are a fan of Vietnamese food, wander down the High Road to Little Saigon, the salt and pepper squid is all kinds of amazing. The Northcote Arms, which is technically in Leyton, is a great pub with a real community feel. And If you want amazing views of the city, go on a tower tour at St John the Baptist Church. The tours don’t run all year around, so you’d need to keep an eye on their website for dates, but it’s well worth doing. The views are simply spectacular, especially at Sunset with the lights of the city set against the darkening sky.
