Sailing is the predominant pastime in the area with a number of sailing clubs including West Wittering, Itchenor, Bosham and neighbouring Chichester Marina itself. Other attractions include Glorious Goodwood with its internationally known race course but also providing many other facilities including a private country club, golf course and airfield. Goodwood also plays host to the annual Festival of Speed and the September Revival meeting at its historic motor circuit. Both of which have become prominent annual events. The newly created South Downs National Park is criss-crossed with many footpaths and bridleways providing excellent facilities for mountain biking, horse riding and walking in some of the richest countryside in the south of England. There are several choices of vehicle access to London including either the M27/A3 or the A285 via Petworth to the A283 joining the A3 at Milford. The mainline station situated at Chichester provides a regular service to London Victoria in about 1 hour 40 minutes and to Gatwick in about 1 hour 5 minutes. An alternative slightly faster rail service to London is also available from Havant in about 1 hour 20 minutes to London Waterloo.
