We were wandering down Orford Road the other day with Paul from the E-List, heading for a meeting in The Queens Arms (no, honestly, it was a meeting, and the fact that Laurence the publican persuaded us to have a drink whilst there shouldn't detract from that point). Whether walking the kids to school, or wandering along Orford Road to pick up a pint of milk, you are bound to bump into someone you know, so don't be surprised if even the shortest of short strolls ends up taking more time than you imagine…

In This Area - By Walthamstow Diary - Despite what people may tell you, Walthamstow Village was not invented by estate agents. It’s called Walthamstow Village because it was once exactly that, a village. Once the administrative heart of Walthamstow, the Village is now content to simply be the neon capital of Europe. An unlikely claim you might think, but visit God’s Own Junkyard on Ravenswood industrial estate and you’ll see what I mean.
