Living Here... - As we sat in the garden at the Heathcote & Star last week, enjoying a rare moment of relaxation after finishing the refurb on the house after five long years, our significant other suddenly said “I think we should move to Leyton – it’s buzzing”. Now bearing in mind how much we bang on about E10, that probably qualifies as being hoisted by our petard. Still, it’s good to see that occasionally people pay attention to what we are saying! Seriously though, Leyton is an amazing place to be at the moment. It’s full of interesting people creating new and exciting businesses, all tapping into the creative vibe that is happening here. Take Phlox Books for instance – how great to be able to take the little ones to pick out a book for you to read with them, and have a coffee and a chat with your friends at the same time. Or head along Leyton High Road to Deeney’s Café and sample the haggis toastie, before walking it off with a stroll around the beautiful Coronation Gardens. Or sit in Yardarm, order a sausage roll (honestly, they are amazing!) and chat to Dan and Eliza about Kettle & Ryan next door. Add to that all the other new businesses popping up along Francis Road and the High Road, and it really is an exciting time to be moving to E10. The more we think about it, perhaps we should be listening to our own advice…
