THE STORY The hunting lodge and tower - known as Kemeys Folly has been painstakingly renovated with a contemporary twenty-first century extension added.


When describing the outcome of the project, presenter Kevin McCloud, said: "They chose the difficult route - the double jeopardy route in this case - of both restoration and new building. They commissioned some architecture and bought back to life a local landmark. The result is first-class really."

The original tower now contains a hidden library-cinema room on the ground floor. The master suite with sitting platform, dressing room and ensuite bathroom takes up the entire first floor. There are two further bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms on the second floor.


New additions to the building include a huge open-plan family room, dining room and kitchen-breakfast room, a play room-bedroom, two bedrooms and two ensuite bathrooms.

At the very top of the tower there is a roof terrace offering breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. On a clear day it is possible to see as far as the Bristol Chanel.
