Portmeadow and Wolvercote Common form a large part of the village and provide beautiful picturesque walks and cycle routes along the river Thames and the canals into the city centre. There is a village shop and 3 pubs within walking distance including the Trout Inn with its riverside terrace, famous for hosting the likes of C. S. Lewis, Lewis Carroll and Colin Dexter.
Wolvercote is easily accessible from the Oxford Ring Road and A34/M40 road network for access to London, Bicester Village and Woodstock.
