North Kessock lies on the south coast of the Black Isle, at the narrows where the Beauly Firth becomes the Moray Firth. Directly opposite is the city of Inverness. LOCATION
North Kessock is the site of an ancient ferry route between Inverness and the Black Isle the ferry ran until The Kessock Bridge was opened in 1982. One of the villages that make up the Black Isle. North Kessock is also a popular tourist resort with many B&Bs and self-catering holiday accommodation in the area. Nearby in Fortrose and Rosemarkie is a links Golf Course; this is a traditional links course set on a peninsular and designed by James Braid, a name familiar to the golfing fraternity. There are a number of other quality golf courses in the area for tourists and locals to utilise. In and around the Black Isle there are plenty of activities engage in. Boat trips operate taking visitors to see the dolphins in the inner Moray Firth at Chanonry Point. Other activities within the immediate area include walking, fishing and nature watching. Loch Ness and its associated castles are only a short drive away and the West Coast is a 50 minute drive. North Kessock is an ideal base from which to explore Inverness and to make a broader odyssey of the Highlands. The Black Isle Show is a large agricultural show held each August which brings an abundance of visitors to the area. A further attraction to the region is the distilleries such as Glen Ord Distillery, Dalmore Distillery and Glenmorangie Distillery; these distilleries have visitor centres providing guided tours.
