On Friday mornings there's a great antiques street market that starts quite early in Golborne Road and Portobello. There are numerous coffee shops around such as the Golborne Deli and Lisboa Patisserie, that have been on the road since the fifties - a bit of an institution. The film Notting Hill was filmed around this area; Elgin Crescent / Portobello Road in particular.

There are plenty of small independent boutiques in Golborne Road itself and plenty in Portobello selling quite eclectic mixes. Westbourne Grove is also buzzing with interesting shops and restaurants and well worth a visit.

The nearest hospital is Hammersmith Hospital, on Du Cane Road, about 15 minutes by bus. There are a are plenty of small grocery stores on the street and market stalls on Portobello Road, and for the nearest large supermarket there is a Sainsburys at 165 Ladbroke Grove, open till Midnight.
A Post office and cash point is to be found not 20 metres from the flat to the right on the corner of the road and Portobello. There are two chemists - Golborne Pharmacy , 106 Golborne Road, and Dillons Chemist at 24 Golborne Road.
