Cambridge - So much more than "just" a university city

Cambridge shares Oxford's international reputation for academia, being primarily known through the UK, indeed the world, for its university. But there is so much more to the East Anglian city than that. And with its transport links being so good, it is easily accessible from far and wide.

As you would expect from a university city, property in Cambridge is architecturally varied. In the city centre itself, stylish modern houses, flats and maisonettes can be as much sought after as the splendid Edwardian properties (with magnificent countryside views) found on the outskirts.

Getting to Cambridge

The city is easy to get to by car, coach and rail, but could not really be described as an ideal residential location for London commuters. Access by road is excellent, though: the M11, M1, A1 and A14 all link to the city.
The rail link between London King's Cross and Cambridge is also good.

The world renowned University of Cambridge together with the local campus of the Anglia Ruskin University are home to around 30,000 students. The city's younger learners (from nursery to secondary school age) are served by over 250 state and independent schools in central Cambridge and its surrounding area.

Wining and dining

Although there are plenty of restaurants, pubs and bars (ranging from the traditional to the ultra-modern) in Cambridge, it is the city's famous sandwich shops that older visitors and locals often talk about as being "just perfect". The younger crowd will find the nightlife vibrant (the Warehouse clubs are great!).

Something for every type of home buyer

For single people, couples and families looking to relocate to a buzzing, historic city, Cambridge can offer everything: all the facilities and services essential to modern-day living, as well as an abundance of things to see and do. Finding an exceptional home to suit your budget there will prove easy.
