Coventry - A fine yet "unsung" city in the West Midlands

Coventry is landlocked, a 2-hour drive from London, and not generally perceived as being one of the "must-visit" cities in the Midlands. But the truth is, it has a great deal to offer, particularly when it comes to available properties to buy or rent, and commercial properties, too. There is property in Coventry to suit singles, couples and families. All budgets can be catered for. Semis and detached houses, one-bed flats, luxury two or three-bedroom apartments,1920s-built detached dwellings situated in stunning secluded grounds... And on the outskirts, pretty thatched cottages.

Getting there

Coventry is further from the coast than almost any other city in Britain, yet is still easily accessible by car, coach and train. Main motorway links to the city are through the M1 and M6. Trains leave London Euston every hour for Coventry Station. Bus services from Coventry and Birmingham Airports are frequent.

Things to do in Coventry

There is something for everyone to enjoy in the city: the whole family could watch Coventry City football club at the Ricoh Arena, or Mum and Dad could enjoy a relaxing afternoon in Memorial Park before taking in a play at the Belgrade Theatre. And the kids could have a ball iceskating at Planet Ice. Places to go for a hearty yet budget-friendly family dinner will be easy to find. And for a relaxing drink, there are pubs and bars that range from the "oak beamed and roaring fire traditional" to "cool, sophisticated and sumptuous ultra-modern". Take your pick.

Education

Coventry University is known for offering first-class degrees. Adult education classes (for mature students looking for afternoon or night classes) abound at local colleges (City College Coventry is excellent). Meanwhile, for younger learners, there are over 100 state primary and secondary schools. In Coventry, the entire accommodation spectrum is covered. And if you also include excursions to neighbouring towns and villages (Kenilworth, Leamington Spa, Nuneaton, Rugby, Stratford-upon-Avon...) in your property hunt, the choice will naturally become wider still. Your only problem then will be making your final decision!
