Exeter - Devon's historic yet thriving capital city

Exeter in Devon has everything you could hope for from a busy (but not chaotic) British city, but with an added bonus: being situated so close to the sea, and having mile-after-mile of soft sandy beaches on their doorstep, the people are very laid back. No doubt being so in tune with the natural pace of life accounts for this.

Spanning the accommodation spectrum

Detached, semi-detached and terraced family homes, town houses, mansions... Property in Exeter comes in all sizes and styles. The choice of flats and luxury split-level apartments can be equally diverse. Single people, couples and families can find an ideal home there to suit their specific budget.

Shopping and eating out

Great shopping in Exeter is a given, as are places to eat, drink and make merry! All the big name high street stores can be found there, as well as exclusive boutiques and local independents. Eateries and pubs range from typical Devon traditional to quirky, colourful and ultra-modern.

Education (for people of all ages) in student-friendly Exeter is easy to find. Exeter University has an international reputation. Exeter College is Devon's largest centre for 16+ and continuing education. And for the younger scholars, primary and secondary schools number over 50 in and around the city.

The "place to be" for IT companies

Businesses from far and wide choose to relocate to Exeter for a variety of reasons, one of these being its superb commuter links, with Exeter Central train station, Exeter St David's train station, the M5 motorway and Exeter International Airport nationally and internationally connecting the city.

Perhaps the only downside to living in Exeter is its low proximity to London. Nevertheless, transport links to the capital and the rest of the country are great.

This might explain why so many firms are not deterred from relocating to Exeter - indeed numerous IT and digital marketing companies have already established a base in the town.
