Take a new look at Hemel Hempstead

One of Hertfordshire's New Towns, situated just 24 miles from London near the River Gade, Hemel Hempstead is popular with commuters to the capital. The town was developed to house people displaced during the London Blitz and it has grown and prospered ever since.

Property in Hemel Hempstead ranges from Tudor and Georgian cottages in the charming old town, to the many detached and semi-detached properties and flats in residential neighbourhoods with their own shops, pubs and services.

Each area has been built around major feeder roads to minimise traffic, and the town is home to the famous "magic roundabout" which allows traffic to go in both directions. Many examples of Modernist architecture can be found - some have stood the test of time, others have not.

Something for all the family in Hemel Hempstead

The leisure facilities in Hemel Hempstead are excellent. A sports centre, bowling alley, swimming pool and dry ski slope offer something for everyone, and the many nightclubs plus a cosmopolitan selection of restaurants and cafes are hard to beat.

For shoppers, Riverside, the new shopping development, is full of top name stores, and the Old Town High Street provides a wonderful array of antique and interesting independent shops.

Ideally placed on the map

Hemel Hempstead station is on the London/Euston rail line, with the journey to the capital taking approximately 35 minutes. By road, the town is accessible via the M25 and the M1, and there are regular bus services operating between the station and the town centre.

Due to its excellent location within the commuter belt and the surrounding countryside of southern England, Hemel Hempstead is an extremely popular residential family area, offering a variety of properties to suit all tastes.
