Preston Overview

Preston is England's newest city and is home to 135,000 people.

As a university town, you'll never be short of something to do. The city is packed with restaurants, bars and clubs. The £6.5 million city centre club, 53 Degrees, has a 1500 capacity downstairs and a more intimate 400 people club upstairs and has played host to many popular acts including Dizzee Rascal, Gossip and the Klaxons.

Along with its vibrant nightlife, Preston also has a rich heritage and an array of annual events including the Mela Festival, the egg rolling event and the Riversway Festival. Residents and visitors can both enjoy Riversway docklands and Victorian parks and enjoy what is said to be one of the greenest cities in the UK.

For great shopping head to Fishergate and Friargate for popular high street retailers, explore the side sides for some smaller independent stores and check out Preston's traditional indoor and outdoor market for fresh produce.

Preston has great transport links with great connections using the M6 motorway and the West Coast Main Line railway service. It is close to both Liverpool and Manchester international airports and has a large bus station connecting you to the rest of the North West.
