Wonderful Weymouth is a seaside special

Weymouth is a classic example of a beautifully preserved British seaside town, with its impressive Georgian seafront overlooking a long arc of clean, golden sand. Picturesque Weymouth Harbour lies near the town centre, and the beach is bustling with activity, making it a real family favourite.

Traditional Punch and Judy shows, donkey rides along the sand, trampolines, pedaloes and swing boats make for the perfect day out by the seaside. In fact, Weymouth beach is so well maintained it has achieved the status of World Heritage Jurassic coastline.

Weymouth - sailing on into a prosperous future

Property in Weymouth is averagely priced for the south of England, and ranges from apartments and terraced houses to maisonettes, semi and detached family houses. However, many properties with sea views will attract higher than average prices, which is entirely in line with other seaside towns.

Tourism is Weymouth's largest industry, and the Weymouth and Portland areas were chosen as the proud hosts of many sailing events in the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic games. Several free festivals take place annually in the town.

Firework displays, great restaurants, bars and clubs are in abundance, and shoppers are well catered for around Hope Square and Brewers Quay, which also houses a museum to showcase Weymouth's fascinating heritage.

Transport links are second to none

Rail, trams and an excellent bus service all make up the transport network in Weymouth. The Jurassic Coast Bus Services runs for 88 miles from Exeter to Poole, stopping at all the neighbouring villages en route. The A354 road connects the town to the A35 trunk road in Dorchester.

Boasting one of the sunniest climates in the United Kingdom, Weymouth truly is a magical place to live and work - and if you 'do like to be beside the seaside' (as indeed many of us do), this could well be the place for you.
