QR codes – What are they all about?

Have you spotted those square black and white barcode things that seem to have popped up here, there and everywhere? In case you didn’t already know they are ‘QR codes’.

A QR code (Quick Response code) is a type of barcode that can be easily scanned with your smartphone. The code will take you straight to a webpage, without the hassle of typing in a long and complicated web address.

The eagle-eyed ones amongst you will have noticed that QR codes now appear on every single property listing and agent/developer page on Rightmove.

If you’re selling your property then you can save and print the QR code for your property and use it further promote your property – perhaps in your front window, on your car dashboard or wherever else you can think of! Speak to you agent today to learn more about how QR codes can help to sell your house fast.

Using these codes in offline promotion means that home-hunters can have quick and easy access to property particulars, including photos, floor plans and contact details, all on their phone.

Scanning a QR code couldn’t be simpler – Rightmove’s iPhone app now includes QR reader and for all other smartphones visit your app store to find many free scanners available to download.

So if you pass by a Rightmove QR code on your travels (you may spot them in agents’ windows on their sparkly new open and close signs), simply scan the code using a smartphone and you’ll be taken straight to a property, or an agent’s property listings, on the web.

QR codes seem to have taken the world by storm so we had a look around to see how else they are being used and we came up with these crackers!
