The soil is of the Hanslope soil association according to the Soil Survey of England and Wales, which can be described as slowly permeable calcareous clayey soils. The Arable Land is currently in a Countryside Stewardship Mid-Tier Agreement under option AB15: Two Year Sown Legume Fallow. The agreement ends in December 2025.
