Location

Bacton is a small and tranquil coastal town in the county of Norfolk that lies on the North Sea coast within a conservation area and is well known for reaching sandy beach which stretches between Mundesley and Walcott (approximately 3 miles).

The village lies between the larger resort towns of Cromer (25 miles) and Great Yarmouth (12 miles). The village has a resident population of some 1,194 (census 2011) but this extends during the peak tourist season with the village and immediate surrounding parishes having a number of caravans, chalet parks and seasonal rental accommodation serving the tourist trade, which because of the location can extend to all year round.

The Opportunity

Pilgrims Holiday Cottages was originally acquired by our client as a private family home being then seeing the potential converted it into holiday accommodation setting about establishing a luxury family holiday retreat and undertook a significant conversion of the main house and various outbuildings into the Pilgrims holiday cottages as is today.

Extensive renovations and refurbishments took place creating the ideal holiday retreat for families and individuals to enjoy this beautiful part of Norfolk with the beach and sea quite literary a 5 minute walk down a quiet lane.

The whole property provides quite outstanding holiday accommodation with a wonderful swimming pool which is used and accessed by staying guests and is also hired out to local groups and individuals all year round. The accommodation is dog/pet friendly apart from no pets are allowed in Prospect House.

The current owner uses a local holiday specialist agent based in Norfolk for the majority of annual bookings and a commission is paid on each booking. Our client has their own web site ( but they do not have a booking platform which is something a new owner could look into adopting.

This is a rare opportunity and has come to the market, offer great potential uplift value for an existing holiday cottage owner, high net worth person or investor to acquire a ready made holiday business in one of the best locations in the region.
