Sandspoint is located in the picturesque village of Findhorn on the Moray Coast. The Culbin Forest, a short drive away (or short boat journey across the bay) with its marked walks and cycle trails, offers excellent opportunities for a wide range of outdoor pursuits.
Findhorn with its sheltered bay providing excellent sailing and water sports is one of Scotland’s most desirable coastal villages. The village is home to the Royal Findhorn Yacht Club and has good basic amenities with a local shop / Post Office, cafes and highly regarded Inns. The world famous Findhorn Community, an eco village and popular retreat is located on the outskirts of the village. There is currently a regular bus service to Forres (about 5 miles) which provides a comprehensive range of shops and amenities whilst the surrounding area offers some excellent hotels, restaurants and historic local attractions including the Forres Golf Club designed by James Bryce. Schooling up to secondary level, including a Steiner School is available in Forres and also at Gordonstoun Independent School, about 12 miles away. Primary schooling is in Kinloss about 3 miles away. Inverness (about 32 miles) has all the facilities of a modern city including its airport (about 24 miles) which offers regular flights to the south and summer flights to many European destinations.
