Hilton Smythe are pleased to have been given the opportunity to manage the sale of Londis Bryntirion Post Office which is a well established Post Office and Convenience Store with a renowned reputation amongst local residents. This is a superb opportunity to take on a high turnover local business in an area teeming with customers.

There has been a Post Office at this location for over 40 years and the business really has become part of the local community. The current owner has run the business since 2018, but is now selling to concentrate on his other business interests, he had great plans for the business but has not been able to commit himself fully to it because of difficulties with his other interests.  He is keen to see this great little business pass to an ambitious and entrepreneurial new owner who can take it to the next level.

The post office side of the business offers a range of services including;

  • All mailing services
  • Drop & Go
  • Parcelforce Express Services
  • Foreign Currency
  • Lotto Prize Payments
  • Lotto Ticket Sales
  • Post Office Money Services
  • Travel Insurance
  • Bill Payments

The convenience store side of the business offers a range of products including;

  • Tobacco and Vaping products
  • Soft Drinks
  • Household items
  • Confectionery
  • Crisps and Snacks
  • General Groceries
  • Pet Food
  • Frozen Food
  • Ice Creams
  • Greeting Cards
  • Children’s Pocket Money toys.

Scope to Improve

  1. Advertising and marketing campaign. A leaflet drop always yields a good response
  2. Maximise the use of social media
  3. Website to extol the products and services provided
  4. Reintroduce the sale of Newspapers and Magazines, this was suspended a short while ago but the weekly news bill averaged £350
  5. Introduce a delivery service, lots of older residents locally who would find this useful.
  6. Extend the opening hours, the business previously opened until 23.00.
