A historic 16th Century Coaching Inn and formerly a well established pub-restaurant with elegant letting rooms. Owners John and Angela Davis, are well known in the area having run the Craven Heifer at Skipton for over 15 years, with a reputation for high quality food throughout the Yorkshire Dales. They prided themselves on having great ales, wines, and a quality food offering at a sensible price, whilst working hard with their staff to provide an excellent level of service.

This famous local landmark dates back to the sixteenth century as a coaching inn and today is known as the pub to meet to share a beer and enjoy superb pub food in a warm and friendly environment.

The Opportunity

The sale of The Maypole Inn provides a great opportunity for an independent chef, husband & wife team, expanding regional operator, or corporate pub company, to acquire a well established and reputable 16th Century coaching inn with potential to increase trade in all areas. The business had a three way income stream of food, free of tie drink offering, and quality letting room accommodation.

There is scope to save significantly on salaries based on the current employment structure which can be discussed in more detail.

Subject to obtaining relevant planning permission with the local council, the barn conversion offers a great opportunity to develop into rooms to drive the hotel side of the business or provide staff /owner's accommodation. The size of the barn provides strong function and events facility potential to increase revenue further.
