Retail and leisure offerings within the town lie 0.3 miles to the west and include; Co-Op, Boots, Barclays, Greenwell Bakery, Lloyds and the Post Office. Additional offerings include numerous pubs/ restaurants/ takeaways, Rothbury Community Hospital and Rothbury Golf Club.

There are a number of transportation options available, with a bus service into central Newcastle approximately every hour with a journey time of 1 hour 20 minutes. The site is 15.5 miles from Alnmouth Station, part of the East Coast Mainline, which provides travel times to Edinburgh in c. 1 hour and London in c. 3 hours 40 minutes, and Newcastle Airport (25 miles to the south east) which provides access to both national and international destinations.
