South Witham is connected to Grantham, Newark and Stamford via the A1 trunk road, being approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) west of the Morkery Lane A1 junction. The A1 offers access to London and access to the motorway network both north and south.

The village offers a range of amenities to include a village store, independent retailers, a public house, South Witham Primary School and further leisure facilities. The village is within the proximity of secondary schools in Grantham, Stamford, Oakham and Melton Mowbray.
