    Richard & Merril Cleal, principals of Martin & Co St Albans, launched their local franchise office in early 2010 and remain hands-on in the day to day running of the business. Being a family owned and run business has proved really successful in delivering our award winning personal and professional service to our growing number of valued clients in St Albans and surrounds.

    Will Lau our son-in-law, in the role of franchise manager has brought further great sales skills, as well as his building experience to the business, ensuring that we continue to provide the very best service for our 'Landlords and Vendors in the Know'.

    Clare Last with her expertise in the property world undertakes the role of our lettings negotiator ensuring that we match the right tenants to the right properties to successfully conclude the tenancies.    

    Lee Ascott, our property manager takes care of day to day property maintenance matters, regular property inspections as well as conducting the check-ins and dealing with any end of tenancy matters arising.

Will Lau was excellent - he understood what we wanted and didn't waste our time trying to force us to view things that weren't right for us (unlike a few other estate agents in the area who seem to send over anything and everything!). The whole team were really nice and helpful - we did a couple of viewings of the property after we had put the offer in, and they were always very accommodating and patient.       Richard took over the management of my apartment about a year ago and inherited a bit of a shambles as the letting agent I had used for years had, unbeknownst to me, let the place slide in terms of both maintenance and admin. After reading some great reviews - albeit a tiny bit sceptically - I chose Martin & Co and it was the best decision I could have made.       I've had a lot of bad experience with landlords and estate agents in the past, and so Martin & Co. were nothing short of a godsend. At every point during my 1year tenancy they were helpful, efficient, fast, reasonable, friendly and thorough. I was quite demanding and needed the house sooner than was advertised. Martin & Co. got the property perfectly ready in just 1 week to meet my needs. I also extended my tenancy at late notice which was also promptly sorted out.
