If so,&nbsp;you\u2019ve&nbsp;probably seen&nbsp;a lot of headlines about house prices, and how they vary depending on where&nbsp;you\u2019re&nbsp;looking to live. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To help you understand what you could afford, we\u2019ve&nbsp;compared average asking prices of homes in areas and cities across Great Britain to highlight where the cheapest places to buy a home are for first-time buyers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"10-cheapest-cities-for-first-time-buyers-in-the-uk\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">10 cheapest&nbsp;cities&nbsp;for first time buyers&nbsp;in the UK<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Affordability is a major challenge for many first-time buyers in the UK. However, there are still cities that offer all the benefits of urban living with more affordable property prices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking at typical first-time homes (2 bedrooms or fewer) we&#8217;ve found the cheapest cities in the UK for first-time buyers. Top of the list is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rightmove.co.uk\/property-for-sale\/find.html?searchLocation=Aberdeen%2C+Aberdeenshire&amp;useLocationIdentifier=true&amp;locationIdentifier=REGION%5E4&amp;radius=0.0&amp;_includeSSTC=on\">Aberdeen<\/a>, with an average asking price of just \u00a394,778.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This port city on the north eastern coast of Scotland regularly finds itself near the top of UK resident satisfaction surveys. Reasons for this include the lower cost of living, along with the offshore oil industry, beautiful surrounding countryside of Aberdeenshire, historic granite architecture and a thriving university community in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rightmove.co.uk\/property-for-sale\/find.html?searchLocation=Dundee&amp;useLocationIdentifier=true&amp;locationIdentifier=REGION%5E452&amp;radius=0.0&amp;_includeSSTC=on\">Dundee<\/a> was the other Scottish city that made the list, with an average asking price of \u00a3117,624 and the strongest year-on-year price growth at +5.8%. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rightmove.co.uk\/property-for-sale\/find.html?useLocationIdentifier=true&amp;locationIdentifier=REGION%5E198&amp;_includeSSTC=on&amp;index=0&amp;sortType=2&amp;channel=BUY&amp;transactionType=BUY&amp;displayLocationIdentifier=Bradford.html\">Bradford<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rightmove.co.uk\/property-for-sale\/find.html?useLocationIdentifier=true&amp;locationIdentifier=REGION%5E665&amp;_includeSSTC=on&amp;index=0&amp;sortType=2&amp;channel=BUY&amp;transactionType=BUY&amp;displayLocationIdentifier=Hull.html\">Hull<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rightmove.co.uk\/property-for-sale\/find.html?useLocationIdentifier=true&amp;locationIdentifier=REGION%5E430&amp;_includeSSTC=on&amp;index=0&amp;sortType=2&amp;channel=BUY&amp;transactionType=BUY&amp;displayLocationIdentifier=Doncaster.html\">Doncaster<\/a> were three Yorkshire cities that made the top 5.
