Villa Chatto is at the end of a little road that rises up behind the village of Loutses and ends in a row of old terraced houses.

Originally two cottages, the house has been lovingly restored by its present owners, retaining as many original features as possible.

Over two floors, there is a large kitchen on the ground floor, with a family bathroom at one end. Directly above the kitchen and reached by a wooden staircase is the master bedroom, with the original cypress wood floor and a large built in linen cupboard.

A few steps up lead off the kitchen into the oldest part of the house which was originally a monastery. Here is a large double bedroom facing the view, with an exposed stone wall and the original wood burning oven.

Behind the bedroom is a large living/dining room, originally the heart of the 1675 monastery with original features, such as a rare pink marble flagstone floor, a recess for the host, a rustic inset bookcase, and a pink marble sink from the old kitchen. The room is cool in summer and cozy and warm in the winter, thanks to the wood burning stove.

A staircase leads up to the upper sitting room, with high vaulted ceiling and a beautiful old cypress wood floor. Plenty of light floods in through the windows which give wonderful views to Albania and the sea, and a door leads to a large upper veranda and another to a little back patio, which is a perfect place for having morning coffee.

To the rear of the living room is another bedroom, presently used as a single room but with plenty of room for a double bed.

Downstairs across the patio is a separate studio, giving extra guest accommodation. The studio has a useful 'apothiki' (storeroom) below.

Outside the kitchen is a terrace with a pretty vine covered pergola, the perfect shady spot to relax and take in the view. Below this, the land slopes gently down to an olive grove.
