On the whole there are two lounges-living rooms, six bedrooms, two bathrooms, one kitchen-lounge and several spare rooms.For the family and house staff to access the house independently, there are two exterior wooden doors, one on each floor, with the main entrance of the upper floor being at the top of an external staircase. Each door leads to a reception hall, before entering the main lounge. A wooden internal staircase links the two floors.A third exterior wooden door leads to a ground building, internally linked with the lower floor, which used to be the laundry room. After the renovation in 1985, its larger part was converted to a spacious kitchen and living room.HistoryThe stone-made mansion house was built in 1925 by a Greek-Egyptian , born in Agios Dimitrios, with commercial enterprises in Egypt . Given the absence of road network, all building materials and house equipment, with the exception of stone, were transported by small boats to Agios Ioannis and then with mules to Agios Dimitrios.The family lived on the 1st floor while on the ground floor were the kitchen, the cellar, the laundry and several rooms for the house staff. At the back yard of the house, at a distance of roughly 200m, there is a water tank filled with fresh water continuously provided by a nearby natural spring till nowadays.During World War II and the early years after the liberation, the mansion was inhabited by chief members of the Resistance and then by Police staff. Later and till the end of the 50' it became the residence of one of the owner's nephew and his family, who was also assigned as caretaker. In 1984 the heirs of the property started the selling procedures.Under the new ownership, in 1985 began the work of renovation. The new householder, certified electrical engineer, apart from the required repairs, completed the installation of the electrical network and the plumbing.. Therefore with the exception of the bathrooms, where modern building materials were used, everything else was either taken off, repaired and placed back or rebuilt using the same raw material and technique as the initial. In this way most of the chestnut wood that was used and has successfully passed the test of time was maintained. The main part of the renovation was completed in 1991.
