This period property offers an enormous range of possibilities in a region of Ireland which has considerable growth potential. Growth in the second quarter of 2018 was 9% as the economy recovers from the financial crash of 2008/9. Brexit also is having an impact as Ireland is a committed member of Europe and this has lead to an increase in interest from the UK.
I am prepared to consider selling the house and outlying grounds separate from the farmland depending on interest expressed, but it is my view that the combination of both offers the best investment as the land may be utilised for a number of purposes. Out-buildings have recently been rewired. The farm is a two-minute drive from the village of Bohola which has a primary school and developing amenities as well as local pubs and shop/PO.
The property is also close to Knock Airport and Mayo's Atlantic coastline with Galway to the south and Yeats County [Sligo] to its northeast.
From a pollution point of view, you would be hard pressed to find a cleaner environment as there is little or no industry in the immediate facility and for good measure, the land also includes a bog which is approx one mile away from the farm!
Wind power [renewable energy] is growing rapidly in this region and for those with the resources, this farmland offers enormous potential in terms of location and hight. The bog section which is even higher has the potential to accommodate two wind turbines!
The house offers lots of potential for redevelopment and as you can see from the attached photographs is very livable. It's got a drive around the house with the entrance on the front [Bohola] side. Some of the barns and granary could be developed as sleeping facilities and/or storage facilities, so it's really up to any interested party to consider what the potential of this investment could offer? I will consider offers on the house circa 130,000 euro's with the option of the land for a further 80,000 and will reimburse any expenses incurred such as flight costs to Knock with receipts on completion of a sale.
