Ovacik, just a few years ago, was a traditional small farming village that was hidden away in the hills next door to the popular and lively resort of Hisaronu and above the stunning beach resort of Oludeniz, however, as Oludeniz's demand for quality accommodation grew so did the resort of Hisaronu, and with all this demand Ovacik has seen the development over recent years of some stunning new properties, luxury villas, apartment and villa complexes, giving the village a resort name in its own right, and also very popular as a residential area for many Fethiye ex-pats.
