VILLAGE OF PATRESH
Location: In the middle of the Danubian Plain, northwest side on 22 miles away of the old capital of Bulgaria, Veliko Tarnovo and 5 miles away on the north side of Town of Pavlikeni, is located a little village with big history, which was called before Patreshnitsa, and now called Patresh.
Patresh is located in three short hills, in which has 2 little rivers. The rivers under the village gave the beginning of the small River Elia, which is part of River Yantra.
There little rivers are very important for the village, because around them are build a lot of stoned fountains and wells. In the past , the water of the rivers watered the lands there and helped to the 6 mills ,which were there. Also there little rivers separate the village in 3 parts - north, middle and sounth. The North part is called Batashka. The middle part is called THE MIDDLE ONE. It is the oldest part of the village. The South part is called Daskotska.
There are 2 big main roads in Patresh- the first one is for the town Pavlikeni and the second one is on the east side of Patresh and it goes to Town of Polski Trambesh.
The road for Town of Pavlikeni was built in 1914/15, in the early 20s, it was renovated In 30s and 40s. In 2015 it was totally renovated, too.
The winter in Patresh is cold, the summer is hot. At the end of the autumn and during the winter was northwest wind, called " Dunavets:". In November and December blows the north wind, called "Deribivol". Not very ofter blows the southeast wind, called "Topliaka". The most common wind is the west one "Gorniaka" and the east one "Dolniaka", which blows rarely.
History: From the people who lived in the village before are founds a lot of things : coins, things that people used in their daylife ect. Some of them are found near river Elia. In the Middle part of Patresh are found a little stonned ax by Ivan T. Bankov, some parts of a spindle found by Zdravko K, Pavlov , a clay pot found by Atanas D, Popov and a clay jug found by Ivan Tr. Sakalov. These things prove that on Patresh land lived Thracians 2000 years ago.
Patresh is located in Dolna Mizia. There were found things from roman villages from 2 and 3 century. There is a historical museum in Pavlikeni where you can see some of the things.
