The house is situated in a very quiet, rural old village, called Aigues Vives, in the heart of the Minervois wine region. It is a few minutes drive from France s second most visited place after the Eifle tower; the Medieval city of Carcassonne. The Mediterranean beaches are in easy reach by car and the Spanish border is a two hour drive away. There are regular direct flights by Ryanair into Carcassonne Airport, from Liverpool, Manchester, Stansted, East Midlands, Dublin, Glasgow and others. It is also a very easy driving route, avoiding many motorway toll roads. The village nestles in a valley between the Corbieres and the Black mountains. The house itself has four large double bedrooms, all of which can easily accommadate either a double bed, or twin beds, together with all the other customery bedroom furniture. A large second, fully tiled bathroom is situated on the first floor and comprises of a quadrangle, power shower, w.c., washbasin and heated towel rail. Also on the first floor is an ample landing area which leads out on to a balcony overlooking the front garden. The curvedl staircase decends into a wide spacious hall, off of which there are three reception rooms, a bathroom and seperate toilet. The first of the three reception rooms is a large country style fitted kitchen, which incoprates a dining area that will seat six to eight people comfortably. The large, air coditioned sitting room has comfortable seating for six plus, and has a laminate floor. There is also a small study, or quiet room to the rear of the house. This room has a single patio door which opens out onto the BBQ area. Outside to the front of the property there is a paved area, which has a mature tree that offers shade from the hot mediterranean sun. A wooden gate leads to the side of the property, where ther is a 10 X 5 metre swimming pool. The pool has built in steps at the shallow end, where the depth is one metre and stainless steel, removable steps at the deep end, which is 2 metres deep. The pool is surrounded by natural stone which forms the sun bathing terrace and BBQ area. As well as the obligatory security cover and the bash (which is a heat retaining cover), there is an all weather cover, which allows bathing the year round. The property has a current Energy Certificate. The house was completely re-wired to a high standard in 2003 and the Central heating system was overhauled in 2010. All radiators have been fitted with thermostats. English satellite TV has been installed.
