San Juan de los Terreros is just a couple of miles along the coast south of Aguilas. This idyllic area nestles between the hills and sandy beaches fringing the Mediterranean. San Juan de los Terreros is a small Spanish Seaside Resort with Supermarkets, Chemist, Restaurants/Bars, Tapas Bars, Coffee Shops, Ice-cream Parlours, Medical Centre. Nightclub and Garden Centre. An open market takes place during the summer each Sunday morning.

The relative isolation of the town is part of the reason for the low key development in Aguilas, it is 70km from Murcia, 95km from San Javier airport and 180 km from Alicante airport. Lorca is 25km away. The nearest golf courses are in the neighbouring province of Almeria.
