and galleries. A lot of popular night clubs are in the area as

The block of the former Stalin-Allee as part of an
internationally unique monument was designed 1952 by
the architects collective around Hanns Hopp and was
completed by 1956. The architects planned the buildings
based on the Berlin Classicism, but also used Neo-Gothic
and Baroque formal characteristics. The resulting
buildings were built from the rubble of the bombed-out
city. The residential and commercial buildings, which
extend from the Strausberger Platz upon the Frankfurter
Tor to the Frankfurter Allee, where designed for the
people as ?palaces" and should represent the strength and
ingenuity of the GDR.

Today's Frankfurter Allee is therefore characterized by
these apartment buildings from the 1950s where this
unique apartment unit is located. This uniqueness of the
entire ensemble makes living and working in this
monument into something special. The buildings consist
of a solid masonry construction with steel and concrete
slabs and the supporting structure of the complex consists
of solid brick walls.

renewed as well. The facade of the Frankfurter Allee with
all the details repaired according to conservation
