An attractive 118m2 one storey red roof tiled house built in 2001 on a plot of 5040m2 and located near Vasiliki and Monastiraki villages, 5 kms from the coast at Pacheia Ammos and opposite the dramatic Ha Gorge.
It comprises and entry hall, bathroom with shower cubicle, open plan living/dining room leading into the kitchen, which is fully fitted and equipped, including the gas hob, electric oven and dishwasher, all of which are integrated. The living room has a wood fired cast iron burner. There are two bedrooms one of which is en-suite, plus a dressing room. The house is sold unfurnished.
The house has gas central heating, solar panel for hot water and air conditioning. The windows are double-glazed with fly screens and roller shutters. Wiring is in place in each room for a security system to be installed together with a video entry link at the gate, if desired. The gate is electronic and the plot is fully enclosed by walls and a fence, so ideal for children and animals. The property has a septic tank.
Around the house are several seating areas and verandahs, a covered bbq, wood pizza oven and dining area, storage and a car port sufficient for three cars plus plenty of room for more.
The plot has building capacity to allow for an extra 80m2 to enlarge the existing house or build a separate building. There is plenty of space to install a swimming pool, without the need to destroy the existing trees.
On the plot is an olive grove with 30 trees producing olive oil annually. There are also 220 vines and lots of fruit trees. The Ha Gorge is a striking ravine surrounded by magnificent mountains and makes for a truly wonderful view. There are some lovely walks in the area and in fact the European hiking route, the E4 is located here and leads up to the mountains.
The village of Vasiliki has a taverna, which is a few minutes’ drive. The area is historic and has a nearby Minoan archaeological site (in fact there are a few in the area). The little hamlet of Monastiraki has two tavernas (one seasonal and one open most of the year) plus a nice bar (seasonal). The sea, supermarkets, bakery and other cafes and tavernas at Pacheia Ammos are within 5 kms; Ierapetra is at 11 kms; Aghios Nikolaos at 27 kms; and Heraklion airport at 83 kms.
