Casa Mi Raccomando is a best-in-class property in Le Marche. Built with attention to detail by an owner who knows a lot about building great houses in Italy and a lot about sweating the details. The build quality of house and cottage is striking. Fully certified anti-seismic structures. First rate insulation from foundation to roof. Top quality doors and windows in mahogany with bug screens and shutters. The finish work is equally noteworthy. All tiles and all fittings are done to a high standard throughout. The owner recovered antique interior doors and had them refurbished and whimsically hand-painted in pastel colors. Both house and cottage have that feel of care well-taken, of craftsmanship and quality. Note, too, that the property comes with complete certifications and documentation of all required approvals, especially those related to earthquake resistance. In fact, the owner worked on the restoration with some of the most highly respected suppliers from the architect to the structural engineer to the door/window supplier. The builder was one we'd call "old school", the sort of guy who builds thing to last.

A provincial road lies just beyond and whisks you in under 10 minutes to the city of Tolentino with all manner of services and shopping, as well as the SS77 Superstrada that takes you to the coast (in 35 minutes), the airport (Ancona in 60 minutes) or to Umbria (in 40 minutes). This proximity to a major highway is a huge advantage in any event, even more so if you plan to use the house only for holidays or as a rental home. And, close-by, it's easy to get around. Go 10 or so minutes east or south and you're in the hilltop towns of Colmurano, known for its chocolate festival, street art and world music festival and autumn chestnut and vino nuovo festival...Urbisaglia, with its elegant piazza and Roman ruins, and San Ginesio, called the "Balcony of the Sibillini" for its panoramic views and is known also for award-winning artisan-crafted gelato at the Bar Centrale and a car-free piazza on summer evenings.
