Carnello is only a few minutes drive from historic Arpino and buzzy Isola del Liri, and is well supplied by public transport. Its restaurants range from the upscale Mingone through to casual pizzerias. It is situated on the confluence of the Liri and Fibreno rivers, and offers both pretty walks along the river shore and a cafe with a large terrace overlooking the river.

The Ciociaria region is within easy reach of both Rome and Naples and their respective airports. A day's shopping in Rome is a common pastime, while an even shorter drive brings you to the charming beaches south of Rome.
