The exterior is clad with black corrugated Onduline sheets which have excellent thermal qualities, retaining the heat in during the colder months and keeping the interior cool during the warmer seasons.  You are welcomed inside Thorpe Lodge through French doors into a delightful open plan living space.  The sitting area is cosy with a raised wood burning stove and lovely views out across Fen Meadow.  The newly fitted kitchen features oak worktops, gas oven and under counter fridge whilst the dining area is tasteful and in keeping with the charm of the lodge.  Along the corridor are three bedrooms, two with twin beds and one with a double bed; all with stripped pine rear walls, fitted wardrobes or cupboards and windows either to the front or rear.  The newly fitted shower room is stylish with floor to ceiling tiles, shower enclosure and a wash hand basin.  There is a separate WC with wash hand basin and door out the rear of the lodge.

Outside

The surroundings of Thorpe Lodge are truly lovely.  Approached via an unmade track you enter the meadow through a five bar gate.  There is ample parking both outside the gate and to the front of lodge and a lean-to / cart shed for outside storage.

There is a fire pit area and outside dining space with sail cloth shade, providing a magical spot to enjoy both the sunshine and al fresco dining, whilst relaxing and basking in the peace, quiet and birdsong.

Fen Meadow itself extends to around 2.25 acres (STS) and is designated as a meadow.  Currently it is grassed but it could be sown with native wild flowers or left to nature and the wildlife and insects.



The Location

It is difficult to grasp how pretty the location of Thorpe Lodge is without visiting in person.  It is approached from the road, down an easily navigable un-adopted road and track through the woodland, past a few tucked away neighbours to the gate.  The meadow itself, whilst surrounded by trees is flooded with sunshine due to its size.  The very top of the meadow is fenced and a neighbouring land owner has some grazing there.

On foot from Fen Meadow you can walk down pretty woodland paths, passed the Golf Club and on to the famous Meare and Thorpeness village itself and the beach.  By car, it's just a few minutes to both Thorpeness and Aldeburgh.
