As we all know, bungalows are currently in short supply in the Mold area and this makes them all the more sought after among the many keen buyers out there. This is one reason why they attract such high prices so it is unusual to find one as affordable as this. Needless to say there is a reason for this and a viewing will reveal that while not quite immaculate, this home is basically sound and with a bit of TLC could become the home of your dreams while representing an excellent investment.

In a quiet residential area a few minutes’ walk from the town centre, this home has a front garden laid to decorative crushed gravel with flowering shrubs around the perimeter for added colour. To the side of this a broad drive provides a spacious parking area before running past the home towards the brick wall at the rear with its arched gate leading into the rear garden. Another footpath runs from the drive across the front of the building and up the opposite side of the home to access the back door and once again, the garden.

Halfway along the side elevation is the white UPVC front door with its additional glazing to either side allowing extra light into the inner hallway. In here we find a floor which I initially thought was a quality wood laminate but in fact turned out to be a highly convincing vinyl, completely wrinkle free, indistinguishable from the real thing and most importantly, warm to bare feet.

Immediately on the left is the solid wood door into the lounge where this flooring continues. Solid wood is a recurring theme in this house featuring on all the internal doors and in the case of this room, in the shape of the fire surround too. The room stretches the full width of the home, is thus spacious in the extreme and kept admirably bright by the huge picture window overlooking the front garden.

Moving back into the ‘L’ shaped hall we pass two separate store cupboards, one large and the other larger still, dispelling any fear of Hoovers, ironing boards, old paint tins, tents and assorted “stuff” from cluttering up your living space.

Beyond here on the left we find the kitchen where, if I am brutally honest the home begins to show its age a little. However this is not to be seen as an insurmountable problem as kitchens and bathrooms are the spaces most frequently modified in the process of stamping your your own personality on any new home. Should the cost of any proposed alterations be an issue, in here the carcases of all the units appear sound and so simply changing the doors could make the world of difference. It is a spacious room where the current units are laid out in a ‘U’ shape and still leaving plenty of space in the centre to manoeuvre around. Beside the large window the back door takes us out to the path running around the perimeter of the home, giving access to both the front and rear gardens.

Opposite here is the bathroom where we find, unsurprisingly enough a lavatory. Beside this and though an arch there is a pedestal hand basin and where the remainder of the room is fitted as a wet room. The far corner features an electric shower, various hand rails and a folding seat for those less spritely residents. Needless to say, should these be thought unnecessary their removal would be a simple matter though as space is never an issue in here, they could just as easily be left.

Adjacent to here towards the rear of the home we come to the smaller of the two bedrooms although that is not to call it actually small. This is a well proportioned space with room for twin cabinets either side of the double bed along with two full sized free standing wardrobes and all this still leaves more than enough room to move around.

Alongside here and also overlooking the rear garden is the principal bedroom. This is everything you could want from a main bedroom and to give you an idea of the space available, it currently contains a double bed with twin bedside cabinets, a free standing wardrobe, linen chest and no fewer than three chests of drawers of varying heights without feeling remotely crowded.

Passing through the arched gate at the head of the drive and into the rear garden there is a large wooden shed with a roof fitted between it and the house producing a covered passageway. Across the rear elevation of the home is a full width patio before a set of wooden steps take us up to a higher level. These steps are made of wooden sleepers, as are the terrace supports, and look good while remaining maintenance free.
The second level is given over to crushed slate with various shrubs and has a paved pathway curving across the area, terminating at some further steps up to the third level. Here the surface changes to golden gravel, again with various established shrubs and small trees, before we step up to the final level where there is a large wooden summer house.

This is fitted with both power and light but it is when we turn and look down towards the house that its true worth becomes obvious. We are high enough to be level with the roof of the bungalow and beyond that, the outline of Moel Fammau dominates the skyline guaranteeing stunning sunsets from this delightful vantage point. A golden sky, a cool drink at the end of a long day, can life get any better?

Within walking distance of the town centre and market it offers excellent accommodation in a tranquil setting and could, with very little input from any new owner, become somewhere really special. The rooms are large and well proportioned, the garden a peaceful retreat and the evening view from the summerhouse could lead you to believe that all is well with the world. What more could you ask?
