There is a great, local bar, restaurant and deli with magnificent views:

This area is on the border between Lunigiana and Garfagnana in the Tuscan hills with a nearby lake and with trails into the mountains. Lago Gramolazzo is particularly beautiful and offers a number of activities: The area is famous for the stone statues which date back to the Neolithic age and are thought to be gifts to the moon Goddess. Garfagnana is the valley which stretches west from Lucca along the Serchio valley to the hills on the northern tip where it borders with Lunigiana. It is characterised by hilltop villages and small towns with cobbled piazzas. The hills on either side of the river rise steeply and are flanked with dense woodlands, scattered farms, rivers and streams. The hilltop villages offer splendid views across the valley. The largest towns in the region are Barga and Castelnuovo di Garfagnana with picturesque medieval town centres, restaurants, shops and supermarkets. Barga higher in the hills is dominated by the ancient cathedral and has a famous theatre house. The villages offer breathtaking views, traditional restaurants, orchards and vineyards. Equidistant, and just 20 mins away, are the medieval market towns of Fivizzano and bustling Aulla with supermarkets, shops, motorway and train station.

Fivizzano a medieval walled town with a central cobbled piazza is often referred to as the Florence of Lunigiana. The bustling town hosts many cultural events over the summer with concerts in the piazza and reenactments of medieval parades. With its musical heritage the town also attracts international musicians during its annual folk music festival. There is a hospital, shops and restaurants in the town. Lunigiana is a magical part of Tuscany with breath-taking scenery and an abundance of medieval castles. The sunshine, glorious countryside, delicious food and wine, kind and friendly people offer a perfect mix for a summer retreat or for year-round living. The golden sandy beaches around Lerici and the pebble coves of the Cinque Terre are ideal for swimming and sailing.
