The village is home to 1,300 people is around 660 Metres above sea level. The huge pine forest that you'll drive through into the village is 814 Hectares in area, and really stunning.

In winter a local company offers horse drawn sleigh rides, and for nature lovers out there a visit to Rißfälle, the only waterfalls in the region, is a delight for all ages. A huge Topaz rock (The only one in Europe) named the Schneckenstein cliff brings tourists from far and wide.
