Llidiart Twrcelyn is a charming former farmhouse constructed of stone beneath a slate roof. Originally a farmhouse which likely was responsible for a far larger holding, Llidiart Twrcelyn was acquired by the present owners in 2005 at which time it was in a very poor state. Llidiart Twrcelyn in its entirety has since been subject to a comprehensive scheme of renovation to create a wonderful property incorporating a private dwelling with a
series of well appointed and adaptable holiday cottages from the conversion of some traditional stone farm buildings. Indeed, the property has been used as a private residence with attached holiday lettings business from which a healthy income has been derived, although there remains great scope to expand the business either perhaps by conversion of the stable block to another cottage and/or glamping or yurts on part of the land
which, for the last 15 years, has been used for grazing horses.
The farmhouse has a particularly attractive, symmetrical front facade with sash windows either side of the original front door, and intricate stone detail above the windows, all beneath a pitched slate roof with stone chimney stacks. The interior of the house has retained plenty of character throughout but benefits from modern building techniques and materials including double glazing and under floor heating. The quality of cosmetic fitments is of a high standard throughout notably in the kitchen and bathrooms where the finish is superb.
The accommodation is spacious and highly adaptable, ideally laid out for family living with three reception rooms including a wonderful sitting room with exposed oak trusses, vaulted ceiling and picture window to the garden, and a useful study. The kitchen with dining and sitting areas is a large room ideally suited for everyday living and informal entertaining. The working end of the kitchen has a range of wall and floor units beneath polished granite work surfaces, a Leisure Range cooker with double oven, grill and 5 ring LPG hob, a 4 oven AGA, twin stainless steel sink with mixer, SMEG dishwasher, CDA microwave and island unit with further sink, cupboards and drawers. At the far end of the room is a woodburner and French
doors to outside, and beyond which is a useful boot room and cloaks with separate W.C.
At first floor level the accommodation is as comprehensive with four double bedrooms all of which have pleasant aspect across the grounds, and three bath/shower rooms, two of which are en-suite.
Created from a range of traditional stone farm buildings, the cottages have been created to provide quality, self-catering holiday accommodation. They too are served with under floor heating and have been fitted to a high standard with quality kitchen and bathroom fitments throughout. The layouts vary and provide adaptability, appealing to single persons, couples or small families, although the target audience which the vendors
have sought to attract is smaller parties who are keen on walking and who have dogs, not least because the availability of holiday accommodation for this sector of the market is rare. All cottages differ slightly from each other but all offer potential for altering or in some cases adding extra living space if required. They are
comprehensively furnished and ready for immediate use with little if any additions necessary, subject to personal taste and requirements.
Llidiart Twrcelyn occupies an extremely peaceful, rural location towards the centre of Anglesey. Accessed off a country lane the house and cottages enjoy a slightly elevated setting surrounded by well maintained gardens and grounds, and overlooking open countryside against the backdrop of the Snowdonia Mountain Range in the distance. On the recreational front Anglesey is renowned for its scenic coastline with numerous sandy beaches, and miles of walking inland and along the coastal path. For those interested in sailing and boating the waters around Anglesey provide impressive cruising with its interesting coastline, and there are several sailing clubs on the island notably the Royal Anglesey Yacht Club in the popular town of Beaumaris (14 miles) and Holyhead, with marinas at Holyhead, and Deganwy on the mainland. There are golf courses at Bull Bay, Beaumaris and Holyhead, several
shoots including at nearby Llys Dulas, motor racing at Ty Croes, lake fishing at Llyn Alaw and for the equestrian enthusiast good hacking out directly from the property.
A comprehensive range of services is available in Benllech,
Amlwch, Llangefni, Beaumaris and Menai Bridge with a selection of pubs, restaurants, shops and hotels, with supermarkets available in Benllech and on the edge of Bangor. There is a choice of doctor’s and dentist’s surgeries nearby including at Benllech and Llangefni.
