Chivers and The Loft are situated in a lovely stretch of countryside between Stondon Massey and Doddinghurst on the northern fringes of Brentwood. Close by, the village of Blackmore has local shops and to the west the town of Chipping Ongar provides an excellent range of traditional shops, pubs and restaurants as well as a Sainsbury’s and Tesco, a doctors’ surgery and library. More extensive shopping facilities can be found at Brentwood or Chelmsford.

For the commuter there are excellent connections to the M11 (junction 7) which connects with (junction 28) the M25, an underground rail service (Central Line) at Epping with overground rail services from Brentwood and Shenfield (Crossrail). The A12 access is 4.5 miles at Shenfield.

There is an excellent choice of local schools in the area, including Brentwood Preparatory school, St. Martins and Shenfield primary schools at Kelvedon Hatch, Ongar and Moreton and the recently opened Ongar Academy is a mixed community school for 11-18-year-olds. Further afield are Brentwood School, King Edward VI Grammar School, Chelmsford County High School for Girls and New Hall School and Haileybury at Hertford.

Directions

From Brentwood take the A128 towards Ongar continuing out of the town into the straight mile. Continue on to Kelvedon Hatch ignoring the turning on the right into Blackmore Road.
