Property description

The Property
If you are looking for a characterful property, quiet village location and countryside views, look no further as we have your perfect home! Situated in the quaint Peak District village of Bonsall, is this fantastic 3 bedroom detached stone built cottage. Formerly two cottages, now converted into one large cottage, the current owners have sympathetically renovated this characterful cottage throughout. With quality fixtures, fittings and retaining period features, this one must just be viewed to fully appreciate not only the spacious and cosy home this has now become, but also the breath-taking views from the gardens.

General Information
Bonsall is an attractive, historic former lead-mining village set in steep-sided converging limestone dales. Sitting on the edge of the Peak District just 2 miles south-east of Matlock, the village is on the Limestone Way footpath and the area is excellent for walkers. A 3.7 mile circular walk takes in Bonsall, Matlock Bath and Cromford. The lower dale along the Via Gellia road has some glorious woodland, a haven for wildlife and flora - look out for Kingfishers near the millpond!

The current owners really like the community feel the village has. Gardening allotments are available relatively frequently for local residents with an interest in living the 'Good Life'. Local schools are well thought of and the annual village carnival is enjoyed by all. Two local village pubs offer social engagement, offer food and even home the eccentric annual Bonsall Hen Race!

Entrance Hall
With a composite double glazed door, feature wood panelling with beaten copper edging, tall feature radiator, grey wood effect flooring and a UPVC double glazed window to the side elevation bringing in light to this pleasant entrance.

A fabulous snug style lounge, with a stone recessed feature fireplace, multi fuel burner, those deep recessed windows feature again with UPVC double glazed window, continuation of the grey wood effect flooring and a tall feature radiator completes this great space to relax and enjoy.

Dining Room
Nicely proportioned dining area, able to easily accommodate a dining table for six for the current owners as well as additional furniture. With a deep recessed UPVC double glazed window to the front elevation, additional stable style UPVC double glazed window to the side elevation, feature tall radiator, continuation of the grey wood effect flooring and a feature 6 bulb hung light fitting completes this spacious and light filled room.

A spacious modern fitted kitchen sits to the rear of the house overlooking the rear courtyard. Split over two sections, the lower level accommodates more of a utility area with a modern sunken stainless steel sink unit with swan neck mixer tap fitting, a range of gloss finished fitted base units and integrated fridge & freezer. A handy recessed under stair storage area and hardwood flooring complete this section. The upper level benefits from a continuation of the gloss finished base units, feature ceiling beam, those deep recessed windows feature again with UPVC double glazed windows, 4 ring Zanussi ceramic hob, eye level integrated Zanussi double oven and finished once more with the fabulous hard wood flooring.

A pure white painted staircase leads to a carpet landing on the first floor with loft access and an additional high height UPVC double glazed window bringing in additional light.

Bedroom One
Double sized main bedroom, well proportioned with modern styled radiator, carpet flooring and recessed dressing table.

Bedroom Two
Spacious double second bedroom, virtually identical in size to bedroom one with a modern styled radiator and carpet flooring.

Bedroom Three
Nicely proportioned third bedroom 11'10'' x 07'03''. Currently used as a dressing room by the current owners. Ideal as a bedroom, home office or large nursery. Certainly larger than the average third bedroom found in more recently built homes.

Stylish fitted L shaped family bathroom, with a feature hardwood fitted vanity unit with hand basin & waterfall mixer tap fitting, hardwood flooring, P shaped bath with chrome thermostatic shower with rainfall showerhead, low level flush toilet, tall feature radiator and handy recessed airing cupboard storage. Obscured glass UPVC double glazed windows to the side and rear elevations bring in plentiful light.

Within the rear courtyard sits a outhouse utility with power, homing a washing machine and dryer.

The house boasts fantastic elevated gardens offering views across the valley and countryside. A pleasant courtyard style garden with lighting sits directly to the side and rear of the cottage. Stepped access takes you to a private and enclosed first tier lawn ideal for relaxing or entertaining. A continued pathway leads to the second tier, again with a pleasant lawned garden and those breathtaking views!

Given the nature of the location and styles of properties locally, the parking is on street.
