Property description

A well-proportioned three bedroom detached bungalow, located in a popular residential area in Castle Cary. The property benefits from a southerly-facing garden, off-road parking and a garage. Available to purchase with onward chain.

A door to the front of the property opens into an entrance hall, which incorporates two storage cupboards, a separate airing cupboard and offers access into the loft space via a pull-down ladder. There are three bedrooms to one end of the bungalow; two of which are generous doubles and the third with a built-in wardrobe. From the Master bedroom, there are superb countryside views into the distance, including of Glastonbury Tor. The property has an adapted shower room/wet room with a low level WC, a vanity wash hand basin and a heated towel rail. Adjoining, there is an additional WC and basin (offering scope to be taken through into one room, if desired). The kitchen/breakfast room, which could benefit from some updating, is fitted with a range of floor and wall units with space available for a freestanding cooker and white goods. A door to the rear of the kitchen leads into a lobby at the back of the bungalow, which gives access to the rear garden and driveway and internally through to the garage. Completing the accommodation is a spacious dual-aspect sitting/dining room with a tiled fireplace.

Outside, the property enjoys established, well-tended gardens to the front and the rear, with gated access to one side. Enclosed to all sides by fencing, the garden enjoys plenty of sunshine throughout the day and includes a good size patio area, ideal for outdoor dining/entertaining. A further section of mature garden is then situated above, with an area of lawn and pathway. To the side of the bungalow, a driveway provides off-road parking and leads to a single garage, with an 'up and over' door, light and power.

Castle Cary is an attractive and bustling market town of glowing golden stone. It is a haven of historic buildings, independent shops and boutiques and picture-perfect surrounding countryside. Dating back to 1855, The Market House remains the focal point of the town, hosting a weekly market as well as regular events. The town is home to many independent businesses including shops and art galleries. Amenities include a nursery, a primary and a secondary school, a health centre, a dental practice, a library, a Post Office, a deli, various grocery stores, greengroceries, newsagents, chemists, pubs and tea shops. There are large supermarkets only a 15-minute drive away in the towns of Wincanton and Shepton Mallet. The newly opened 'The Newt in Somerset' is just a short drive away along with the fashionable town of Bruton, home to Hauser & Wirth Somerset, a pioneering world-class art gallery. The mainline railway situated on the edge of Castle Cary makes this a great location for commuters (Paddington c. 90 mins) and the A303 is also within easy reach.

From our office, proceed along Fore Street to the Triangle, turn right onto Lower Woodcock Street and at the junction turn left onto Station Road. Continue on this road, passing the former constitutional club and the turning for Torbay Road. Turn right into Victoria Park, then left into Victoria Gardens. Follow this road into Florida Fields and the property can be found further along on the right hand side.
