A delightful two bedroom period cottage in good order throughout with a lovely garden.
The Property - Main Street forms part of a handsome terrace of cottages that runs along the main street in Bothenhampton. For many years the property was tenanted and has in the last year been refurbished throughout.
The accommodation is conventionally laid out with a small entrance hall to the front of the property that leads through to a sitting room, that centres on a fireplace with a brick exposed chimney breast and an inset gas fired woodburning style stove. This in turn flows through to a refitted kitchen equipped with a comprehensive range of floor and wall mounted units and cupboards with an integral gas hob with an extractor fan over and oven under. Beyond there is a useful utility/boot room off which there is the original coal hole. Upstairs there are two good bedrooms, one of which has an original fireplace, served by a refurbished shower room with a double sized shower. The flooring downstairs is laid to quality laminate flooring and ceramic tile, while upstairs new carpets have been installed. The property has UPVC double glazing throughout, a contemporary gas fired boiler and is beautifully decorated throughout.
Ouside - To the rear of the property, steps lead up to an attractive long terraced garden that shares a central pathway with the cottage next door. The garden has a good entertaining terrace near the house itself with part of the garden laid to lawn and the other part decked, edged by herbaceous shrub borders.
Situation - Bothenhampton is a small village on the eastern side of Bridport, with a number of period cottages, a village hall and a parish church of some note. The cottage is within good walking distance of the Nature Reserve and access to footpaths and bridleways. Bridport is an active market town and popular holiday area where street markets are held twice weekly. The town provides a comprehensive range of shopping and professional facilities, primary and secondary schools, recreational and social amenities. The pretty harbour at West Bay, with lovely beaches is close by and the area provides the opportunity for enjoying the Jurassic Coast, recently designated a World Heritage Site.
