Knighton is one of Mid-Wales market towns straddling the England/Wales border. Located at the halfway point of the Offas Dyke footpath, a 177-mile National Trail footpath which closely follows the border it has a visitor centre that attracts many tourists to the town. Local amenities such as a train station, primary school, supermarket, and leisure centre along with many small independent shops make this an attractive place to live. Other local towns such as the market town of Ludlow and spa town of Llandrindod Wells are within easy commute and offer a further choice of facilities.
