Martock is a large village approximately 8 miles from the town of Yeovil. The village has an excellent array of mainly independent retailers. Close to the property is the village primary school and parish Church. Additional facilities include a medical centre, dental practice, library, vets, public houses and a hotel. Many clubs and recreational facilities thrive within Martock. Access to the A303 trunk road is about a mile distant and mainline railway stations can be found at both Yeovil and Crewkerne.

National Trust properties, within a 15 mile radius, include Tintinhull gardens, Montacute and Lytes Cary.
