Description

Sellers view:
"The Well House has been our cherished family home for over a decade. We moved here when expecting our second child, and it has provided a wonderful setting to raise our now three children. Steeped in history, this 1910 property formally housed a well, serving as the laundry house for the entire street. It retains charming period features of its time, including working fireplaces, original parquet flooring, and high ceilings.

Over the years, we’ve updated the home, landscaping the garden and adding a new powered shed, a composite front door and a double story extension at the rear to create an open plan kitchen/diner and an extra bedroom upstairs. For us the kitchen is the heart of this home and is perfect for entertaining, with underfloor heating and bi-fold doors opening onto the patio area and south-facing garden, which enjoys the sunshine all summer long. We had planned an additional extension above the kitchen for an ensuite and dressing room, but the permission expired in 2022, though it could be renewed for anyone wanting it. We recently installed built-in wardrobes in the master bedroom and updated the downstairs toilet in 2023, with half-walled porcelain and tiles and a new sink and toilet. Due to the nature of my work, we also upgraded to superfast fiber-optic broadband.

We chose this location for its proximity to St Nicholas Church School in Taplow, local amenities, easy access to London via the Elizabeth line and convenient motorway links. It’s truly been a wonderful family home and I know future families will be very happy here too."

Kiel's view:
This house is truly spectacular. The Well House. A fabulous sense of charm, character and modern living. The moment I entered this house, I knew I was going to see some amazing features I'd be excited to share with you on the viewing. It doesn't disappoint and being a 1910 build, the original features are still showcased inside after being lovingly cared for by the sellers. There are so many attributes this house has to offer, from the high ceilings, original fireplaces and plenty of downstairs living space, carefully thought out to optimise living versatility. The kitchen/dining space creates a real hub to the rear of the home as you enter the garden which has been landscaped and feels very private. The bedrooms are all good sizes but bedroom one really ticks all the boxes with built in storage, large windows to the front and even a feature fireplace. This home has been tastefully modernised whilst still in keeping with the age of the build and is ready to move straight into.

Area view:
This charming period home is ideally situated near excellent transport links, including the M4 and Burnham Station, which offers convenient access to the Elizabeth Line, providing a seamless commute to London and surrounding areas. Families will appreciate the proximity to top-rated local schools, ensuring a high-quality education for their children. Additionally, the property is surrounded by vast amounts of greenery, with parks and open spaces nearby, perfect for outdoor activities and family picnics.

This home falls within catchment of two of the most sought-after in the area, perhaps the country.
