Location
The market town of South Molton is approximately 15 minutes drive, with its regular pannier market. Dulverton, just nine miles to the south, is a delightful little town nestling in the Barle Valley also within the National Park and is well known as The Gateway to Exmoor . It provides good shopping facilities together with a post office, chemist, doctors, dental surgery and veterinary surgeries, library, primary and middle school and a well used town hall. There are also good recreational facilities including squash courts, all weather tennis courts and football and cricket pitches. The Victorian coastal town of Minehead is within half an hour to the north.

The county town of Taunton, which is approximately 25 miles away, has excellent retail and commercial facilities, together with access to the M5 and a main line station with fast rail links to London. There are three independent schools, Kings and Queens Colleges and Taunton School. Tiverton, which is some 22 miles to the south, offers a range of shopping and entertainment facilities, the well-known Blundells School and also has easy access to the M5 and Tiverton Parkway. Exeter with its international airport is approximately an hour's drive and the wonderful sandy beaches of Woolacombe and Croyde are also within an hour.
