Bridestowe is a quiet little village situated just over a mile by country lanes from open moorland on the north west side of Dartmoor. The facilities in the village include a post office/stores, inn, primary school, church and chapel. For most needs, Okehampton and Tavistock are about 6 and 11 miles away respectively. Exeter, Plymouth and the north Cornish coast are all an easy drive away.

Leave the A30 dual carriageway at Sourton Cross, the interchange with the A386 to the west of Okehampton, by following the signs for Tavistock. Turn right at the T-junction then almost immediately left signposted "Bridestowe". Continue for about 2 miles and turn left into the village. After approximately 100 yards turn left and then turn left again into Springfield residential home.
