The village is mentioned in the Domesday Book and most of the properties were built in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries from local stone. The Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin was built in the thirteenth-century and contains the tomb of a knight who fought with Henry V at Agincourt. Icomb is an active and thriving village with a strong sense of community. The historic market town of Stow-on-the-Wold provides an excellent range of shops and facilities to meet day-to-day needs as well many excellent restaurants, pubs, antique shops, boutiques and delicatessens. Bourton-on-the-Water, Moreton-in-Marsh and Burford provide further shops and services. The celebrated Daylesford Organic Shop and Spa is about 4.5 miles away. The exclusive leisure facilities of Soho Farmhouse are only 16 miles distant. The area is well-served by road and rail links with the nearby Fosse Way/A429 providing links to Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick to the north and Cirencester to the south. The A40 are Burford connects to the M40 at Oxford and onwards to London. Kingham Station is just four miles away providing direct trains to Oxford, London Paddington and Worcester.
